Recreational Courses
Prior to all in-water training participants must complete a dive medical declaration form and if indicated obtain a dive medical. Having to get a dive medical does not necessarily mean that you cannot dive, it just means that a doctor needs to assess the risks pertaining to your individual circumstance.
To check to see if you need a medical you can download it here.
Please answer the questionnaire honestly. By lying on this questionnaire you not only put yourself at risk but also the Instructors and other students in the water with you.
Do not leave this to the last minute as you won’t get an appointment, contact your GP to see if they can help you, or alternatively for a list of Doctors that we know who do dive medicals use this list.
If you have a medical and it is no more than 12 months old and nothing in your medical history has changed that is still considered valid.
Professional Level Training
For professional level training and maintaining active status membership with SDI, you need to get an AS2299 Dive Medical, these are valid for 12 months and have to be redone every year.
You can use this site to search Doctors that are close to you.
