- Do you struggle to maintain your buoyancy down there? Struggle to get down or find yourself popping up on your dives and don’t understand why?
Let us help you! Take the next step in your Scuba Diving journey with Dive Spear and Sport 1770 as we help you troubleshoot some of these issues holding you back. Join us on the New Divers retreat on the pristine Southern Great Barrier Reef. This three-day retreat is designed for new divers eager to enhance their skills, gain confidence, and immerse themselves in one of the world’s most beautiful coral reefs while they do it?
On this three day adventure, you will learn:

- Provide you with Tips and Hacks that we use all the time, and explain how they work to help build your experience and thrive as a diver.

- Refining Your Core Skills – working on your descent, ascent, and buoyancy skills to help you start to feel at ease throughout your dive.
- Building Your Comfort in the Water – help you to develop confidence and start to enjoy your moments under the surface – the way diving was intended.
- Boat Etiquette and Procedures – help you understand how to prepare yourself, manage your gear, be mindful of others on board, get organised for your dives and navigate different entry and exit methods in various environments.
- Learn about the marine environment – learn about the reef, the benthos, different species of coral, invertebrates and vertebrates of the reef, the incredible symbiosis that occurs on one of the worlds most biodiverse ecosystems, and the threats to our reef and what we are doing to combat it!
The Experience:
Over three days – one day in centre, in pool and on shore, and two days on the reef, you will have the time, guidance and attention to work on every aspect of your diving. This isn’t just about skills—it’s about elevating your level of diving and making your experience underwater what it should be – enjoyable, not stressful. Absolutely OUT OF THE WORLD experience & exceptional staff! I spent two days on the boat, both dive trips the team bent over backwards to make the whole day super fun and informative! Yummy complementary lunch and snacks! If you’re lucky enough to see a MANTA RAY or WHALE! The team will do their best to ensure you get a glimpse and have’a swim! Thank you DIVE SPEAR SPORT! I’ll be back!!Posted on Google![]()

Had the best time with Dive Spear and Sport 1770, was a bit nervous as I had only snorkeled once in shallow water but I felt super comfortable and saw so many amazing creatures!Posted on Google![]()

Went for the double dive this week and had an awesome time. The crew are responsible, approachable and friendly. This was one of the only dives I’ve done where the instructors called me by my name and I didn’t feel like a number. I’ll also say I felt like they treated me like an adult. Other tours I’ve been on have been so large that their risk mitigation strategy was to helicopter parent, and it ends up taking away from the day. Complete opposite with DSS1770. When a huge manta ray passed us, we were free to grab our snorkels, jump in and respectfully approach ie swim with the manta! The diving itself was beautiful. Lots of variety of sea animals and corals. Would recommend this company to loved ones. The only downside is the cost, but it’s on par with other companies and I think given that we were out all day and had lunch, snacks, coffee and such great guides, it was definitely worth it.Posted on Google![]()

Echte aanrader!Posted on Google![]()

An incredible day ! We started early in the morning with a welcoming team. As soon as we left the marina, a whale marked the beginning of the day. A 90-minute speedboat ride took us to the highlight of the day: a magnificent and unspoiled reef. Conservation and education are an integral part of the team's program. They collect data, visit the reef several times a week, and participate in its conservation and sustainability. It was very enriching to learn more about the reef, the species, and the projects surrounding it. We went snorkeling, while others went diving. Snacks and lunch were provided, accompanied by jokes, laughter, and good humor. I highly recommend this activity !Posted on Google![]()

Had the most amazing day out on the snorkelling tour! The crew were incredible – so knowledgeable, friendly and always happy to help. We loved learning not only about the local marine life but also the rich cultural significance of the area. A special shoutout to Carmen for all the info and to Matt for guiding us through the water – we saw so many sea creatures and had a lot of fun along the way. Truly an unforgettable experience!Posted on Google![]()
