Southern Great Barrier Reef Snorkelling day trip departing from Agnes Water / Town of 1770.

This is a snorkelling adventure like no other! Our snorkelling day tour takes you to the lesser visited, untouched and, when the opportunity presents itself, the unexplored corners of the Southern Great Barrier Reef. Fully guided experience, and a maximum of 10 snorkellers, per guide. Our Master Reef Guides are there every step of the way to point out exciting reef animals, answer your questions and help you explore the best parts.

Each site visited offers something different. From dropoffs, ledges and caves, to colourful walls and ancient giant coral bommies. The opportunities for marine life encounters are endless, with out most common sightings being turtles, reef sharks, octopus and a vast array of colourful fishes.

While we provide all the snorkelling equipment required for the day, you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer. Please note, however, that our excursions operate using standard mask and snorkels, and the use of full-face snorkelling masks is not permitted.

If you’re lucky enough to see a MANTA RAY or WHALE! The team will do their best to ensure you get a glimpse and have’a swim!

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Went for the double dive this week and had an awesome time. The crew are responsible, approachable and friendly. This was one of the only dives I’ve done where the instructors called me by my name and I didn’t feel like a number.
I’ll also say I felt like they treated me like an adult. Other tours I’ve been on have been so large that their risk mitigation strategy was to helicopter parent, and it ends up taking away from the day. Complete opposite with DSS1770.

When a huge manta ray passed us, we were free to grab our snorkels, jump in and respectfully approach ie swim with the manta!

The diving itself was beautiful. Lots of variety of sea animals and corals. Would recommend this company to loved ones. The only downside is the cost, but it’s on par with other companies and I think given that we were out all day and had lunch, snacks, coffee and such great guides, it was definitely worth it.

Ook na het duiken mochten we af en toe nog in het water als er iets te zien was. Zo hebben we een grote manta ray mogen zien. Jesse gaf op een humoristische manier leuke informatie. Schildpadden, rifhaaien, manta rays, nemo en dora en nog vele andere vissen en koraal gezien. Ik had al lang niet meer gedoken, maar heb me goed begeleid en op mijn gemak gevoeld.

As soon as we left the marina, a whale marked the beginning of the day. A 90-minute speedboat ride took us to the highlight of the day: a magnificent and unspoiled reef. Conservation and education are an integral part of the team's program. They collect data, visit the reef several times a week, and participate in its conservation and sustainability. It was very enriching to learn more about the reef, the species, and the projects surrounding it. We went snorkeling, while others went diving. Snacks and lunch were provided, accompanied by jokes, laughter, and good humor. I highly recommend this activity !

Ce sont de réels professionnels de la Grande Barrière qui nous sensibilisent au mieux pour la préserver, prêts à répondre à toutes nos questions et bien équipés pour expliquer ce que l’on peut y voir, comment collecter des donnés pour mesurer l’évolution du récif,..
Tout était parfait : le matériel, les collations, le repas.

The crew were incredible – so knowledgeable, friendly and always happy to help. We loved learning not only about the local marine life but also the rich cultural significance of the area.
