Dive Spear and Sport 1770 played a key role in this new global series

We’re thrilled to announce that Dive Spear and Sport 1770 played a key role in the production of the brand-new Netflix series All the Sharks, streaming worldwide from July 4th.

About All the Sharks

The six-part series follows four teams of shark experts as they travel to some of the world’s most iconic and remote marine environments, racing to find and photograph the most shark species for a chance to win $50,000 for their chosen marine conservation charity. Filmed in stunning locations around the globe, All the Sharks brings together world-class filmmakers, scientists, and local experts to tell the story of shark behaviour, biology, and their vital role in healthy ocean ecosystems.

Supporting a Global Production—From Right Here on the Southern Great Barrier Reef

When the production team behind All the Sharks chose the Southern Great Barrier Reef as a key filming location, they turned to us for support. Our very own Carmen Bolton, founder of Dive Spear and Sport 1770, was appointed to oversee the underwater logistics for the Australian segment of the series.

Carmen coordinated boats, crew, safety teams, filming permits, equipment, and worked closely with Heron Island Resort to ensure filming was smooth, safe, and respectful of the sensitive marine environment.

Our entire team got involved—from skippers and deckhands to safety divers—helping to support multiple shoots over the course of production. It was an incredible experience to work alongside a world-class film crew, and to represent the capabilities of our region on a global stage.

Why This Matters

The series is now available to millions of viewers across the globe through Netflix, offering unprecedented exposure for the Southern Great Barrier Reef, and the passionate professionals who protect and promote it.

For us, it’s more than just screen time. This project gave us the opportunity to contribute to shark conservation storytelling on a massive platform, showcasing the importance of marine ecosystems, sustainable tourism, and local expertise.
